For our Monday evening edition of “American Idol” notes, we have a few stories worth sharing when it comes to the world of country music — not only do we have Carrie Underwood and Lauren Alaina highlights, but we also have a story courtesy of a contestant who sang Carrie’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel” earlier this season.
Hollie responds to internet hate – When you are still technically a teenager, it’s easy for you to get wrapped up in the negativity of it all.
Thankfully, Hollie Cavanagh has found a pretty creative way of handling it — by responding to the negativity with some blatant positivity. After someone on Twitter told her that she should have gone home a while ago, this season’s longtime underdog responded with the following:
“only hopefully going home for the right reasons(:
While we may not have been as sold on this statement a few weeks ago, we are now starting to believe that Hollie does have a chance at making it to the finale. She’s getting better every week, and vocally she and Joshua were from our standpoint the stars of the top 5 performance show.
Carrie Underwood talks TV obsessions – Since Carrie is currently promoting the launch of her new album “Blown Away,” she is really being asked about just about anything and everything in some of her television interviews — including some of her current interests from the entertainment world.
Speaking in a new interview for the United Kingdom with the Mirror, the season 4 winner admitted that she actually is a rather big fan of a few other reality shows:
“Reality TV is crazy in our town. I watch loads of it – The Kardashians, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Jersey Shore … It’s kinda funny that it makes news in the US when things happen on those shows though. But it’s mindless television and I’m guilty of watching it.”
The good news for Carrie? She’s not lone.
Lauren Alaina grateful for Joshua Ledet’s support – It’s rather interesting some of the connections that Lauren has with this season. She is friends with Hollie thanks to the two filming Hollywood Week last season together — and in turn, she is also close to Hollie’s BFF on this season in Joshua.
Following Joshua listing off some of his favorite Alaina songs (which happen to be “Georgia Peaches” and “Like My Mother Does”), Lauren tweeted a message of support back to him:
“thank you for being so supportive of me! I’m sending you lots of luck. Give hollie a big hug for me(:”
