When is a party not all that much fun? When it ends with two people screaming at each other in the parking lot? This was the setting of one of the more vicious blow-ups we have seen yet on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” (though not table-flipping bad), and it is especially awkward once you remember that Jacqueline Laurita was actually throwing this party to begin with so that everyone would start to get along a little bit better.
The source of the anger between Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga began when Teresa found out via gossip about what Teresa had said concerning Melissa leaving Joe Gorga for a wealthier man if she ever had the opportunity — and this led to the two parties having a fight within inside, and then outside when Jacqueline asked Melissa to go and sort out everything that had happened between the two of them. (We’re not really sure why she thought this was the best idea.)
While we in some ways understand Teresa for being unhappy about certain nasty comments getting spread around, she also has to realize that when she is the one making these comments, this sort of backlash has to be expected. As for the person who should receive the most sympathy here, it’s Jacqueline — is she naive for thinking that she could bring everyone together and they would all get along? Sure, but it’s admirable that she at least tried, and it’s more than we can say for some of these ladies this season. She is also in a tough situation here — while she wants to talk with Teresa about gossip that is getting flung around, she also doesn’t want to be in a position where she perpetuates fighting.
Based on what you saw of the fight this week, who are you siding with — Teresa, or Melissa? It ultimately was a situation this week where tension had been mountain for weeks and months, and sooner or later it was going to explode. While it certainly has to be difficult for them, it is also entertaining to watch from a television standpoint. (Much more than some of “Atlanta” this season.)
