That will leave Aaron devastated (and single) and Daryl, who was accepted by both, will go into a rage. Interestingly, Kirkman has hinted that Daryl is the character of Paul “Jesus” Monroe and there has been some banter back and forth between the producers and Reedus whether to make Daryl gay (because Monroe is). Reedus remarked on Conan O’Brien last month that he “would totally rock that story” if the green light was given. Daryl + Aaron? It took me some time, but I could wrap my head around it. It’s pretty clear after 5 seasons that Daryl sees women as friends and allies- Nothing more. Ratings went up after the Aaron + Eric kiss, despite the knuckle-dragging social media backlash. There’s no such thing as bad publicity. It will be interesting to see how Daryl’s character will progress because, let’s face it, the constant loss-anger-depression cycle is getting old fast…
