‘American Idol’ notes: Elise Testone, Scotty McCreery, and David Cook

Elise can do a mean Scotty.

For our Sunday afternoon edition of “American Idol” notes, the focus first of all is not only on a contestant who was recently eliminated, but also someone who is not afraid of impersonating a past winner on the show.

Elise pokes fun at Scotty – During a recent interview with Billy Bush, Elise Testone proved yet again she may be one of the most entertaining idols this season (along with Heejun Han and Colton Dixon) to listen to — mostly because she is not afraid to be honest and actually critique herself and those around her.

There are some great moments in this interview when it comes to her talking about missing Ryan Seacrest and some of the crew members — but one of the best is her doing an impersonation of Scotty McCreery before shaking up his famous version of Josh Turner’s “Your Man.”

What Scotty is up to – Since we are talking about Scotty already, remember to vote for the season 10 winner over at this link for the CMT Awards. He will also is going to be performing at the famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on May 12. To find our more information, head on over to this link.

The CMT Awards actually air on Wednesday, June 6.

David rocks out for charity – In staying the vein of past winners, season 7 champ David Cook has lent his voice to an important campaign that is really all about trying to raise money to help find a cure for brain cancer.

For the fourth straight year (per Mjsbigblog), David ran for the Race for Hope event Sunday morning in Washington DC — and he also performed at a benefit the night before. (To find out more information, follow the link here.) The performance below via YouTube is of the song “Permanent.”

As always, check back soon for more “Idol” news!
