When you are a show like “Dancing with the Stars,” it’s pretty well assumed that the long rehearsals and little sleep are going to take their toll on your body. In particular, Maria Menounos has suffered a multitude of injuries, and yet she has managed to still score the first perfect 30 of the season.
So how does she do it? In a video below (via Menounos’ day job over at “Extra“), you can get a sense of the cryotherapy chamber used by some of the contestants (including on this occasion Katherine Jenkins) as well as the pros on the show in order to heal as quickly as possible. This is the same sort of therapy used by many pro athletes to improve their conditioning and overall health after long seasons, and is therefore yet another reminder of how athletic this sort of competition really is.
Thanks to this cryochamber practice, Maria was able to apparently rest herself up enough to head out to Las Vegas this Saturday, where she was spotted with partner Derek Hough hosting the Bud Light Lime-A-Rita Cinco De Mayo party in a lime green bikini. (Maria famously wore a bikini on “Extra” earlier this season after she lost a Super Bowl bet involving her favorite New England Patriots.)
All of the remaining contestants this week are going to be performing two routines, and there is also going to be a double-elimination that will cut down the competition drastically.
