When “The Vampire Diaries” airs its season 3 finale on May 10, there is one thing that you should definitely expect — major shockers that will alter the very foundation of the show.
Speaking to E! News about his own personal return to the show (along with a foundation he has set up to help a 2-year old boy suffering from a rare form of cancer), Daniel Gillies explained a bit about what to expect when it comes to Elijah revisiting Mystic Falls — even if it was as vague as humanly possible due to producers’ desire to keep just about everything under wraps:
“I’m coming back. There’s a hot mess in Mystic Falls. It’s a hot mess! We need a little Elijah to restore some order,” Daniel teases of his reappearance … [The episode is] just going to rock the foundation of the fandom. It’s stunning what the writers have done. I love what [executive producer] Julie Plec has done. I’m as eager as the fans to see how it evolves. It’s deeply tragic. You can expect some tragedy. That’s all I can really say. Whatever’s happening with this group of people is about to be changed forever.”
One of the other major questions connected to the finale at the moment revolves around whether or not Elijah’s half-brother Klaus is going to be revived — after all, can the show’s primary villain really be put out of commission for that long? There has also been an unusual sort of chemistry between Elijah and Elena at times on the show, but we don’t expect that to play much of a role in anything (including who she ends up choosing — or if she ends up choosing no one).
Are you glad to see Elijah making a return visit, and what are you expecting see happen over the course of this episode?
