NBC’s ‘The Voice’ notes: Tony Lucca, Jamar Rogers, and Blake Shelton

The finale starts Monday.

As we near the season finale for “The Voice” Monday and Tuesday, we have some more stories coming out across the board — whether they are contestants reacting to their surprising eliminations or one of the coaches reacting a magazine cover.

Jamar asks for kindness – When Jamar Rogers was eliminated on the show Tuesday, it was quite possibly the most-shocking exit of the season. However, that does not mean that Jamar himself is necessarily angry at Cee Lo Green by any means when it comes to keeping Juliet Simms around and sending him packing.

In a new post on Twitter, Jamar asked for his fans to show his coach some mercy after Cee Lo ended up receiving some rather hateful messages about the decision that he made in regards to his team — giving Juliet 60 out of 100 points, which (in addition to the public vote) helped to seal his fate:

“I’ve gotten wind that @Ceelogreen has gotten some mean tweets. I’m asking my Fam to not insult him. He & I are cool. Please show love always”

Of course, the real issue here is what we have pointed out already — both Jamar and Juliet deserved to be in the finale, but the current structure of the show does not allow this to happen.

Tony Lucca’s big duet – So far this season, Adam Levine has been the only coach to not actually sing with all of his contestants — opting instead to play the drums and allow the focus to be on his contestants’ actual voices.

However, some of this is going to be changing soon. Adam’s finalist Tony Lucca tweeted that the two are going to have a major duet coming up soon for the finale:

“Just finished rehearsal for Monday’s finale. I get to sing one of the greatest songs ever wtitten with @adamlevine!!”

Fun fact — if we are judging the contestants remaining based solely on Twitter followers, Luca has more than ten times the support of any other contestant.

Blake Shelton visits “The Tonight Show” – Finally, we’ll close things off here with a visit that our king of country made on Jay Leno’s late-night show.

The interview is of course rather silly, but we do get to find out Blake’s feelings on skinny jeans and sushi — plus, we also have Jay pressing Scarlett Johansson about whether or not Blake sent some of his tweets while he was either drunk or sober.

As always, keep checking back for more “Voice” news leading up to the big finale!
