For the Thursday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, we have some good news to share in particular when it comes to a pair of past contestants — meanwhile, someone else is doing their part to hype up one of the remaining contestants.
Kris Allen’s chart milestone – For those hoping that Kris’ “The Vision of Love” would start to take off on the Hot AC chart following his “Idol” performance, there is some good news — he is now in the top 40 with the single.
“Vision” is currently ranked at #40 on the chart, and is up 49 spins from the week before. This format is currently chock full of hits from past contestants, as Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, and Haley Reinhart also all have entries on the list. (Adam Lambert was on the chart with “Better Than I Know Myself” until very recently.)
Stay tuned — we’ll have more chart information in the near future if Kris hits another milestone.
Lee’s new achievement – For fans of Lee DeWyze, the wait has been a long one when it comes to new music. However, we at least have to give the season 9 credit for doing his best to provide updates as to what is currently going on.
Below, you can check out a brief snippet of the song “Breathing In,” which is going to be a part of his new album pending a last-minute change. Lee has been rather busy as of late, and he also said in a new post on Twitter that he is taking the time out to support the troops by performing at a benefit:
“Feeling honored, Heading to Washington DC to play at an event honoring the Wounded Warriors and Soldiers, talk to you guys soon!”
Lauren’s still supporting Hollie – You have to give Lauren Alaina some pretty serious credit. Not only is she a great friend to Hollie Cavanagh, she’s also becoming rather great at rallying people behind her.
Following the performance show Wednesday night, Lauren did everything she could to encourage some more votes being sent Hollie’s way — and it really seems appropriate, since Hollie delivered two of her best performances on the competition during the show. As for how Lauren and Hollie know each other, the answer is really pretty simple — they each spent time together in Hollywood Week during season 10 before Hollie was eliminated for the time being.
As always, check back for more “Idol” news!
