‘America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion’ review: Off to Macau!

What happened?

We have all sorts of eliminations on reality shows — there are those that you can predict, those you never see coming, and those that at least cause you to raise an eyebrow. On Wednesday night’s edition of “America’s Next Top Model,” we witnessed a case of the latter following the arrival of the remaining ladies in a place that could not be further away from both the United States and Great Britain — Macau..

(Warning: the following contains spoilers from the brand-new episode.)

While the exit of Catherine was not necessarily much of a shocker, what ended up catching our attention more than anything else is how she went home following a photo shoot that featured one of the most disgusting things that we have ever seen on the show — silk worms. Not only did the remaining models have to pose for photos wearing silk gowns, but these worms were crawling all over their bodies.

So what was it that ultimately caused one of Brit favorites to be sent packing? It really comes down to looking natural. The entire challenge was more or less just designed to make the ladies wig out, and while Catherine didn’t necessarily lose her mind, you could still thanks to her body that she felt a little bit stiff and possible uncomfortable by what was going on. Sometimes, you have a photo shoot that just doesn’t work for a model, and maybe this was one of those cases.

While Laura (who apparently loves bugs and had no problem with this shoot) ended up scoring best photo, Catherine ended up being joined in the bottom two by Alisha — who appears to have forgotten at times that she is selling a product by modeling rather than just herself.

What did you think about this episode, and would you ever take part in this sort of photo shoot?
