We’ve waited for quite some time, like a little kid with milk and cookies for Santa, for head just Len Goodman to actually hand down a perfect score on “Dancing with the Stars” this season. Thankfully, he finally decided to do so during Monday night’s new episode and Christmas came early … at least for Maria Menounos and Derek Hough.
In a bit of an abridged look at Classical Week Monday night, Maria ended up shining through the pack with a paso doble that perfectly combined skill, intensity, and of course some of the crazy chemistry that these two have shown off all season (minus some of the kissing).
As for the rest of the stars – Let’s rank how all of them did here based on the judges’ scores:
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough: 30
Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas: 27 – Their rumba could have been raunchier, but what did you expect for a classical singer afraid to shake her “naughty bits” on stage?
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd: 27 – Once again, Donald was solid — but he’s still not getting the perfect scores that he wants.
William Levy and Cheryl Burke: 27 – After his shirtless group performance, we’re pretty sure that few people are even going to remember his actual solo dance.
Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower: 25 – Prediction: Roshon and Chelsie are probably going to be fighting for their lives yet again.
Jaleel White and Kym Johnson: 24 – These two continue to establish themselves as the most inconsistent contestants of the entire season.
Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 21 – America has been able to save these two week after week, but these scores (coupled with an ankle injury from Maks) may be too much for them to handle.
Team Tango (Katherine, Maria, Jaleel, Roshon): 27 – There may not have been as much buzz around this dance (possibly because there was no shirtless Maks in it), but it was actually the better one of the two.
Team Paso (William, Donald, Melissa): 26 – Then again, that isn’t to say that the boys plus Melissa here did a terrible job by any means. Both of these team routines were among the best we have seen all season.
Who was your favorite during the show this week, and do you think that Maks’ injury is actually going to slow down him and Melissa if they get into a dance duel Tuesday night?
