Even though “The X Factor” is currently not airing over in the United Kingdom, there is still quite a bit going on — as evidenced by our new edition of the “notes” focusing on the show.
More girlfriend trouble with One Direction – While we certainly for a group of young boys with millions of dollars between them, it is rather easy to feel a bit of sympathy when it comes to how sometimes your fans cause you to have no personal life at all. Take for instance Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, who was forced into feeling a great bit of pain when some of his fans started up a campaign to literally get him to break up with his current girlfriend Elanor Calder (who he been with for six months) so he could get back together with first girlfriend Hannah Walker.
Speaking to the Daily Mail. a rep for the singer had this to say in response to what was going on across the internet:
“It’s upsetting for Louis and Eleanor when Twitter campaigns like this start. I know some of the fans will think it’s a bit of fun, but it’s unnecessary when they are both very happy together.”
Cher Lloyd working with Snoop Dogg – In moving from the third-place finishers of the 2010 season of the show to the young woman who came in 4th, Cher Lloyd is getting start to launch her career in America, and with that in mind she is creating a remixed version of her hit “Want U Back” with rapper Snoop Dogg assisting. (In addition to the “Sticks + Stones” album version, she also has the recording below featuring Astro of “The X Factor” USA.)
Speaking to the Mirror about her plans for America, Lloyd had the following to say:
“America is a priority for me and it feels like it’s a fresh start. I’m taking it seriously. I’ll be out there for three weeks in May to get the ball rolling.”
L.A. Reid of the American show is helping her to launch a career in America, which did warmly receive One Direction earlier this year.
Is Kelly out? – Finally, we may have some new reporting that Kelly Rowland’s future on the series may be in some sort of jeopardy after just one season. According to the Mail, Rowland is unlikely to return for the series, and Simon Cowell is looking at a number of big names — including none other than Katy Perry.
Of course, we will be the first to say that there is no way Perry commits herself to this sort of gig considering her busy schedule. (She has, however, done guest-judging gig on “American Idol” in the past.) We will have to wait and see what happens when filming begins in a few weeks.
Finally, we’ll close for those of you curious on the battle between “Britain’s Got Talent” and “The Voice” UK — while neither series reached the 10 million mark, Simon’s series was victorious for the first time in several weeks.
