It also seemed like both of them had long been gunning for one another since at time during the season they would comment on how intimidating the other was, and how they were a major threat. Ben even specifically says he wanted Jonathan gone from the first episode after his team won the Nerd War and had the choice of who they’d send to the nerd war, but his team ignored his wishes and picked Jacob instead of Jonathan. For the two of them to be in the final competition, it seemed fitting. And when Jonathan won, I was overjoyed. He totally deserved it. Anyone who says that the final games were stacked in his favor are totally wrong. Both Jonathan and Ben were proficient in Math. They both had PhDs and were perfectly capable of winning all of the games (they wouldn’t have been in the final if they weren’t). Jonathan was also a huge part of the Nerdvana and was a superb leader of Team S.M.A.S.H. Season 3 has been the best season so far, and I’m praying that the show returns for a 4th go. To add, Jonathan is my 2nd favorite contestant to ever be on King of the Nerds (my favorite of all is Brian from Season 2 because he’s what I would be if I were on the show; a historian/trivia nerd).

I hacted the last nerd-off for the crown.
There was 4 games that needed skills in math (Jonathan’s strong suit.) the odds were stacked against Ben (did you see a marine animal study game?)

Yet Ben still managed to hold his own. That’s the kinda guy I want as king of the Nerds… But I guess John earned it (with all the chips stacked in his favor but… Whatever… John still is a worthy king)
