“The Big Bang Theory” is saving some of its big surprises appropriately enough for its season 5 finale, and based on what we are hearing now, Howard is going to be very much at a turning point in his life. (Granted, you are not going to want to read on unless you want to be spoiled.)
Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Steve Molaro was more than kind when it came to spilling the beans about what we can expect — at least from the standpoint of revealing that Howard will be dealing with a wedding to Bernadette and a potential shuttle launch in the same episode:
“These are two huge milestones in this one character’s life happening roughly at the same time and they both affect him in different ways … He’s proud and excited at this opportunity [to go into space] and at the same time it presents some challenges that has him concerned … There is a continuing relationship with NASA and, as Howard would point out, whether he goes or not he is technically an astronaut.”
There will be some sort of resolution by the end of the episode, so don’t be extremely angry about the prospect of an epic cliffhanger where you see Howard thinking about what he wants to do with his life.
As for fans of some of the show’s other principal couples, there’s no need to fear — during the episode we are also going to find out more information when it comes to whether or not Leonard and Penny are going to keep their relationship going, or how Sheldon tries to handle a girlfriend who wants to make a wedding day very much about the Maid of Honor.
What do you want to see happen with Howard?
