Ron Artest attempts new career as a comic

In the midst of what could very well be a lengthy lockout, all NBA players have to try and figure out some new career for themselves … right?

This seems to at least be the philosophy of outspoken Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest, who took to the stage on Broadway recently for what he called “The First-Ever Ron Artest Comedy Tour.” This show gave him the unique opportunity to bust out jokes about everything from R. Kelly to Celine Dion to even the fact that he was up on stage to begin with.

While some people may certainly debate Ron’s talents as a comic, he does at least have one thing going for him — he seems to realize how silly some aspects of his life are. The guy recently filed papers to change his name to “Metta World Peace.”

You can check out the full video of the comedy act over at this link — though be warned it contains the same sort of content you would expect from anyone trying to tell some jokes.
