Just in case you were wondering why one of the early numbers of “The Glee Project” season 2 (as you can see in the promo below) is going to be to Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory,” now we know — like many of its other songs from the first season, it is being grandfathered in from “Glee” proper.
We have just learned the official set list for the May 14 Nationals episode (via TVLine), and one song that is going to be featured at length is in fact “Glory.” Meanwhile, Lea Michele’s Rachel will (in a move that comes as little of a surprise) perform the Celine Dion classic “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” and the group as a whole will sing the Meat Loaf hit “Paradise By the Dashboard Light” (which is going to be fun in terms of how the show manages to cut down on an eight-minute rock opera). In keeping with theme from Regionals, there are no original songs this time around despite “Loser Like Me” becoming a hit on the iTunes sales charts last year.
As previously reported (and regardless of how late the rumors place her as arriving on set), Lindsay Lohan is one of the judges for the big event set in Chicago, and she will be joined by blogger Perez Hilton and “Entourage” star Rex Lee.
Just for reference, you can check out the original versions of all three songs on the Nationals set list below. How do you think the “Glee” versions will sound? The next new episode of the show, entitled “Choke,” airs Tuesday night on Fox.
