Get ready for the British invasion on next week’s edition of “American Idol” — after all, we just found out that the remaining five contestants are going to be tackling some hits from across the pond.
There does not seem to be any specific limitation on next week’s theme — only that Jessica Sanchez, Skylar Laine, and the other three contestants remaining must tackle songs performed by British artists. Hollie Cavanagh has spent some of her life in Liverpool, so if nothing else she has a bit of a geographic advantage. (Unfortunately for Hollie, no one across the pond can vote.)
“Idol” has also made sure that next week’s show has a distinctly British feel courtesy of Coldplay, who will come on to perform one of their songs off of their hit album “Mylo Xyloto.” As for the “Idol” alum turning up this time around, it will be Carrie Underwood. There’s no official song announced for her to perform, but we’d be surprised if it is anything other than her current single “Good Girl.”
Elise Testone was eliminated on Thursday night, and check back a little later in the day for some commentary from her courtesy of a conference call with reporters.
What do you think about this theme, and are you already starting to formulate some suggestions?
