‘American Idol’ notes: Carrie Underwood, Colton Dixon, and Adam Lambert

Carrie's speaking out about her album.

For the Thursday afternoon edition of “American Idol” notes, we have a couple of videos to go along with something you must watch tonight pertaining to Adam Lambert.

Carrie on “Nightline” – First, let’s start off with an appearance from Carrie Underwood on “Nightline” Wednesday night. If you’ve seen much of the season 4 winner over the years, this interview is not going to contain too many surprises. (As a matter of fact, the show clings to “Before He Cheats” like it is the only song Carrie has ever done.)

Carrie claims that she is still wrestling over when she should have kids, and it changes on a daily basis. She is also surprisingly asked if she is ever worried that her husband Mike Fisher would ever cheat on her, and she was quick to say that she trusts him completely and explicitly.

The next album from Carrie (entitled “Blown Away”) blows into stores on May 1.

Colton Dixon on “Ellen” – Just as we near the live results show, the eliminated contestant from last week is now speaking out. In a new interview from “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” below, you can see Colton Dixon try to explain why he was surprised to be sent home, why he didn’t want to audition this year at first, and also what he has coming up in his career moving forward. (Colton also performs “Piano Man.”)

There is also a brief cameo from Schyler Dixon in here for fans of Colton’s sister, and she says that she is still thinking about whether or not she wants to audition for next season (though Ellen clearly wants her to).

Adam Lambert on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” – Just in case you haven’t heard, Adam Lambert is going to be on Kimmel’s ABC talk show (beginning at midnight) Thursday night. We’re assuming that his new single “Never Close Our Eyes” will be involved, but we can’t confirm or deny anything just yet.

Check back overnight for a full review of the performance!
