Mario Lopez hints at ‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’ — let’s cast it!

Who do you want to see?

On Wednesday morning, Mario Lopez made an appearance on “Live! with Kelly” as a guest host — and in the process, he may have spilled one of the biggest secrets going in reality TV at the moment. Specifically, Mario suggested that “Dancing with the Stars” is not only considering an All-Star version, but that he has been asked to be a part of it.

Would this work out well for the show? In a word, yes. What better way to revive interest in a show losing viewers than to bring back some of the best dancers from the past? You would be promised a full season worth of good competition, and the producers would also already have an idea of what personalities work out well when it comes to providing humor and entertainment.

If there is one major issue with this idea, it’s logistics. Some of the best professional partners from the past (Julianne Hough, Edyta Sliwinska) have moved on from the show, and there’s also the problem that you could potentially end up having multiple celebrities who worked with the same pro on different seasons.

Since it’s still too early to tell whether or not this will actually happen (and a show rep says the rumors are premature, per Gossip Cop), for now we can really just play armchair casting director for some of the best celebrities that we would love to see again:

Kelly Monaco – She was a controversial winner, but it only seems appropriate to have the first-ever champ back for another go.

Drew Lachey – He and Cheryl Burke dominated their entire season — and if he was able to work with her again, they could be instant favorites this time around.

Mario Lopez – Yes, we all know that he was a better dancer than Emmitt Smith. This is an opportunity to come out and win the show without #22 anywhere nearby.

Helio Castroneves – One of the few athletes who was not only a great dancer (and a winner), but was hilarious just about every step of the way.

Sabrina Bryan – Why bring her back? She is to date probably the most shocking elimination ever on the show, and would make things immediately interesting. Of course, she at one point dated her partner Mark Ballas, so it may be awkward if they worked together now.

Donny Osmond – Not only is he a winner, but he just so happens to be a master entertainer and could work with any partner.

Kelly Osbourne – She is one of the best underdogs in “Dancing” history, and this show really was a catalyst to her turning her life upside down. She must have Louis van Amstel here to help her out, though.

Erin Andrews – If nothing else, she’d get to hear that she was dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy for three more months — even if they weren’t partnered up.

Kyle Massey – We know “Dancing” loves to have a Disney Channel star on every season, and he’s the best one.

Kirstie Alley – Sorry, Erin. Maks has to be paired up with Kirstie for more entertainment gold.

Hines Ward – The best of all the football players to be on the show, and also one of the most charismatic.

Katherine Jenkins – Would it be unfair to put someone from this season on again in the fall? Maybe, but Katherine is both a great dancer and a surprisingly fun person to watch.

Who would you want to see on a “Dancing” all-star season?
