As the upfront presentations near, we are going to keeping up to date on every show out there when it comes to renewals and cancellations — even some of the ones that just about everyone expects to be back.
With all of this in mind, we have some news regarding a trio of shows that are now officially going to be sticking around their networks for a little while longer:
“The Lying Game” (ABC Family) – It was long assumed that this series would get a season 2, but it was finally announced on Tuesday afternoon. The downside? Rather than serve as a companion to “Pretty Little Liars” in the summer, it will not be returning with new episodes until the winter.
“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (E!) – Somewhere, the creators of that Boycott Kim group have to be rather upset at the moment that their voices are not being heard. Not only was “Keeping Up” renewed for a seventh season, but also for eight and nine. This three-year deal (per TMZ) will reportedly net the Kardashian family $40 million, and that does not include soe of the money they receive from individual specials, promotional appearances, or endorsements. By the time this show is over, Kim could practically buy a separate country and banish all of her haters to it.
“Real Time with Bill Maher” (HBO) – Somewhere, Bill is probably upset that we included him in the same story as Kim Kardashian. Oh well. Maher’s popular (and controversial) talk show has been renewed until 2014, meaning that we are going to see and hear plenty more from the comedian until that time. Unfortunately for Bill, we don’t think his deal is getting him $40 million.
Which show are you most excited about sticking around?
