Despite the fact that all of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” are stars on their own reality show, much of Tuesday night’s new episode centered around how many of them were still looking to find more in the entertainment world. For Alexis Bellino, it was a hosting gig; for Heather Dubrow, it was an audition for a show with Jenny McCarthy.
However, the real push of the episode in the end revolved around Gretchen Rossi getting set to make her grand debut with the Pussycat Dolls — and it was every bit as dramatic as you would have hoped for. First and foremost, there were some struggles during rehearsal that were reminiscent of a package on “Dancing with the Stars,” and then there was the much-anticipated panic that somehow, the entire performance could fail to come together in the end.
Did it? In a rather terribly cruel move, the show is making us wait until next week to find out. While we wait for what is sure to be an outstanding moment in reality TV history, let’s focus on a few other assorted moments from the episode:
-Isn’t it funny how you can’t convince Lisa Vanderpump to go The Palms on the “Beverly Hills” show, but these ladies go there without a problem?
-Did we really need to hear Brooks admit to some of his texting habits with Vicki?
-Finally, will Heather audition for “The Real Housewives of Vancouver” if she ends up landing the acting gig, as it films north of the border?
Without a camping trip or moments of genuine (and bizarre) bonding, this episode did not ultimately have the same punch as the one before it. However, at the same time we stand by what we said last week — in between some of the random discussions and some of what these ladies have going on, this is our favorite show in the franchise at the moment. There’s plenty of drama, but it’s fun drama and not something life-threatening or family-oriented. In addition, there’s not a single woman on the show we want to see leave.
