Forgot-with regard to how this might influence future episodes and seasons the groundwork for many possibilities was laid in episode 13. Beckett is still very supportive of Castle as a P.I. but she is also aware that Castle needs backup and other support on dangerous cases. Beckett could join Castle in his P.I. Business.Castle admits that he killed off Storm because the cases became too predictable. Castle could also think this could be true of the Heat cases and he might try more serious literature. Of course Castle could return to the 12th and the life we know and love.

Regarding Beckett getting captured and possibly hurt badly, for this to work to hurt Castle he would have to be made aware that she was captured and tortured/hurt. This could be done through various means of electronic or physical contact of course but they could only hurt Beckett so much before the “mouse” they were using to get to Castle would die, become unconscious, etc which would no longer be of any enjoyment to them. Would seem to make more sense for the capture of Beckett but the torture/death of a clone produced by Dr. Neiman (otherwise why have her involved in the episode). Of course, castle and Beckett will be working together in episode 16 so we know neither will die in either of the 2 parts.
