This thing was littered with red flags and sounds like SEC-bait. Barbara had it right: the ones most likely to go with this model (over, say, a REIT) are exactly the ones that shouldn’t be using it. And even if it didn’t feel scammy, how many of us have been burned by crowd-funding schemes that never delivered? Given the inherent risks of real estate, I wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t the outcome more often than not. Just an awful idea.
