After eight seasons, the April 26 episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” is going to focus on a moment that so many of us have been waiting for — the board exams. It’s the test that shapes the lives of all who through with it, and a failure means that some of the interviews we saw on Thursday night were in vein.
You can see the tension starting to boil over for some of these doctors in our first look at the episode below, in particular when it comes to April. This is also going to be a landmark episode if you love relationships, if for no other reason than that Mark / Lexie fans are going to have some good story — and the same can be said for April & Avery.
It’s not clear if we will actually know who will pass and who will fail the actual exam, but know this — as the promo states, only 4 out of every 5 doctors on average end up passing the boards, and one of the faces we have come to know around Seattle Grace is not going to make it.
This episode is the 21st of the season, meaning that after this wraps we are really only going to have one more hour to try and wrap all of these stories up. One thing you can expect? Open endings — it’s unclear whether Ellen Pompeo and many of the other regulars are going to return, so the writers will likely create something that could be both a fitting conclusion to a character’s story while at the same time raising a few questions for the future.
