‘American Idol’ notes: Stefano Langone’s ‘I’m On a Roll’ premieres (audio)

The song is here!

We have a special edition of “American Idol” notes for you here, and this time we are focusing on a song that may officially be our dance anthem for the rest of the month — Stefano Langone’s “I’m On a Roll” featuring Rock Mafia and New Boys.

Admittedly, it has been so long since we’ve heard Stefano’s music that we weren’t entirely sure what his music would sound like or if we would love it; but we genuinely think that this party song, with its pulsating beat and catchy vocals, has the potential to be a massive radio smash. While there is some other great music out courtesy of season 10 (with some more coming up soon), this may be the most pop-friendly track we have heard yet from the season. It’s certainly one of the welcome surprises of the year when it comes to blowing away our expectations.¬†When it comes to comparisons, there’s a little bit of Bruno Mars here, a little bit of Pitbull, and maybe just an element of The Wanted.

To Stefano’s credit, he is a guy who took his time creating his new music, worked hard, and had some great guidance courtesy of 19 Entertainment and the folks at Interscope. Let this be a lesson to future contestants — don’t feel pressure to push an album out before Christmas if you want to take your take. It can lead to you getting some pretty great music out there.

Stefano debuted the track on Friday morning’s edition of “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.”
