I have been watching old episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and as much as I love Callie and Arizona together when they are both happy, I think that ultimately they aren’t good together. It is kind of like Preson Burke and Christinia Yang. When he left her on their wedding day he told her he couldn’t marry her because he realized that he was trying to change her into what he wanted her to be and that was not who she was. As I watch these old episodes I noticed that since they have been together all they have tried to do was change each other and the only reason they kept getting back together was because of some major incident that drew them back together (after treating a patient, Callie thinking she would rather have Arizona than a baby, the shooting, Arizona missing Callie when she left to go to Africa and coming back to Callie pregnant, Callie’s dad telling her he cheated on her mom so she should forgive Arizona). I also noticed that every time they broke up it was because of Arizona. I think the writers got it right having them divorce. They are both good people but they make each other miserable and Callie really deserves someone who will treat her as well as she treats them for once!
