Sorry but I disagree with the whole longing and waiting until the last minute to tell her he loves her. Felicity fell for Oliver and Oliver did not fall for her in that romantic way until the end of Season 2. Felicity saw him and Sarah together and yes that must have hurt but they were not in a relationship. Oliver is not responsible for how Felicity felt about him because he gave her no indication he felt the same way nor did he lead her on or encourage those feelings.. He told her he loved her twice,he told her "you know how I feel about her" and he told her "don't tell me to say I don't love you"..

Oliver has told her over and over again that because of what he does he cant be with someone he could really care about. If you bring Sarah into it well she could protect herself which Felicity cannot and has been proven time and again every time he rescued her. Finally we come into Season 3 and this man who has lost so many people he loves sits in a restaurant and actually tries to start a relationship with her and it literally blows up in his face. Oliver is in love with Felicity and if she had died in that explosion he would blame himself because that's what he does. It would be enough to push from being a hero to being a villain.

When has Felicity opened up about her feelings for him. Yeah she is still skirting around it and knowing how he feels and how he blames himself SHE decides to walk away from it or go on a date to cause angst. I have no problem with Felicity I love Felicity but to put this whole thing on Oliver is just to much. There are two sides to every romance and until she says how she feels and stops kissing other men I have no sympathy for her. The way I see it if you truly love someone you should have zero desire to kiss someone else. If you truly love someone and want to be with that person you certainly don't start falling for another guy a few weeks later.

Instead of looking at Oliver and relationships pre Island start looking at Oliver now.

I agree, there needs to be some desire on Oliver's part to pursue his feelings regardless of the consequences. She needs some time too because she did make the right and healthy decision to try and cut the chord but then where she is now might impact her. Even if she has Ray around, he clearly is still hung up on his wife and he is going to go and likely put himself in more danger than Oliver does (at least normally, Oliver uses at arrow to avoid hand to hand) and she will need to come to the decision that she can't risk her heart.

Oliver, I presume, is going to come back changed and there has been this discussion that he likely comes back closer to the iteration of the Green Arrow as social justice crusader that he originally was. And I think part of that will be outright pursuing Felicity regardless of what she says, I mean, its still Oliver so part of it will inevitably be Oliver just putting his heart on the line and then walking away to hide. And he will probably be pissy to Ray when they eventually get together and he will probably spend time with Laurel just helping her out that Felicity misinterprets until he says he is just biding his time. Then, I have a memory that there is going to be a wedding this season (Dig and Lyla's), that would likely be the romantic occasion that Dig and Lyla (Dig being president of the Olicity fan club and I think Lyla agrees) can manipulate to put them together.

I think Oliver realised he did love Felicity during 'Unthinkable' and I agree he needs now to earn her love. But he has to get to the point of acting on his love or else he will keep coming across as weak. Felicity deserves better than a two-minded man. Having said that, their relationship zinged from the moment they met, and I can't conceive of Oliver's romantic endgame being anything other than Olicity. Simply love those two together ?.

I so agree with you. Oliver really has to kiss butt and earn her love because, like you said he has always gotten ANY woman he wanted. He even had two sisters falling out & losing their self respect over him (cough Lance sisters, cough) and instead of dumping Oliver & reconciling, they both want Oliver over their sister! Shameful, not any type of hero we'd want to emulate. IF Sara had not broken up with Oliver, was he ever going to get a 'light bulb' moment and say 'Nope, this relationship is wrong & not what I need, I need Felicity' and breakup with Sara? I wonder because he actually wanted to MOVE IN with Sara (something he refused to do even with Laurel) and he was happy to be in that relationship so 5-6 months down the line he could still have been shacking up with Sara in front of Felicity had Sara not left him. He must have known it hurt Felicity seeing all that (everyone else did), does that mean at that point he didn't care about Felicity? As much as I think Oliver should be with Felicity (she's a very positive force in his life, she loves him, warts an' all unconditionally, brings fun/humour to his life which is very lacking, oh and he didn't bang her sister) it shouldn't feel like 'Oh well, Sara dumped my ass so I'm single and hey Felicity is here so why not?' The writers should make it believable, I don't want to believe the theory that because the writers are men they can't connect emotionally with the audience. Besides Laurel he's never really dumped anyone, it's always him that gets dumped it seems and I feel for once he should make actually decisions and sacrifices to get the woman he wants.
