Things must be getting rather serious between Jess and Russell on “New Girl.” Why? Dermot Mulroney’s character is leaving Zooey Deschanel’s master-of-everything-quirky with his daughter for the first time away from the classroom.
As for the ways in which this episode gets complicated, it’s rather easy to list them off:
1. Jess’ babysitting gig leads to some awkward questions about what sort of relationship she really has with Russell on a physical level.
2. We meet Russell’s ex, who continues to call him her “husband” to Jess’ great dismay.
3. There will be name-calling. Plenty of name-calling.
Elsewhere, we are going to be seeing the continuation of Winston’s new plot at the sports radio show — and while we find out that the new boss loves yard sales, there’s no sight of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in all of his greatness yet. (Maybe he’s too horrified by the milkshake prank from last week.)
You can check out more from Tuesday night’s episode in the video below, with some commentary to boot from Max Greenfield (Schmidt) and Lamorne Morris (Winston).
How much longer do you think that Jess and Russell are going to last?
