Mrs. Carter: Well, what happened here?
This has to be one of the strangest timings to date for a “Bachelor” / “Bachelorette” breakup. Mere days after the two parties walked the red carpet at the premiere party event for the show, Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray have now announced that they are no longer together. They made the announcement in a joint statement today, where they promised that they are going to continue to be friends, and have no plans to say anything negative about each other:
“After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it’s best for both of us to go our separate ways … We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what’s best for both of us individually. We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best.”
We know that there is going to be a conspiracy theory out there among many that they were already split at the time of the appearance Monday, and that is probably not unreasonable since it would be a pretty sharp transition from being perfectly happy to broken up. Still, we don’t really blame them if that is the case. If there were problems in their relationship, Andi and Josh may not have been ready to talk about them on Monday night. Had they acted as though there were issues, they would have been peppered with questions.
Still, the breakup means that the last couple from the show to last longer than a year is Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried, who are getting married later this month. Meanwhile, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici married last year.
