Mrs. Carter: Yes, it may be time to potentially start all of the Cumber-baby buzz right away!
While the news has not been confirmed just yet, Page Six of the New York Post is reporting today that “Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch and his fiancee Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child together. This news comes not long after the pair announced in a newspaper clipping that they were engaged, a move that parallels almost perfectly the low-key nature of their entire relationship so far. Neither often speaks about their relationship publicly, though Benedict has been forced to discuss the engagement a few times during recent press commitments for new film “The Imitation Game.”
A source tells the publication the following about the pregnancy:
“Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it. They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring.”
We imagine that as with the engagement, their wedding ceremony will be just about as quiet and low-key as possible.
While the tabloids are reporting most of these stories Benedict is a busy man himself. He is currently in the process of filming a “Sherlock” special that is slated to air presumably around the end of the year, and he has three more episodes to go following that. Also, he has at least one major film coming up in “Doctor Strange,” and he could win a Golden Globes this weekend for the aforementioned film. Ultimately, what we are trying to say here is that this is clearly a good time to be Cumberbatch.
