While a number of bootleg trailers for “The Dark Knight Rises” have appeared online in the past several days, we wanted to wait to present it on here once we had an official copy that showed off the trailer as it is meant to be seen.
Well, the trailer has indeed arrived — and it’s spectacular. While “Rises” is obviously saving some of its talent (including Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle) for some future promotion, this minute-long teaser gives us a clear idea that Tom Hardy’s Bane is going to be front and center here. The trailer also suggests both themes of redemption and resurrection — which leads us to believe that a few stories involving Batman and Bane in the comics could be brought to life here.
What is perhaps most interesting is how this is being billed as the “final chapter” in this saga — meaning that Christopher Nolan not only has no intention of continue with the franchise after this — but also that he wants his creative interpretation of the saga to be done after the film’s release next year.
