In this edition of “American Idol” notes, we have a little bit from the past as well as the present. The good news is that we are going to be seeing every person mentioned here on TV soon — some albeit earlier than others.
Adam’s “Kimmel” gig – For those of you wanting to catch a mini-concert of some of Adam Lambert’s new music, you’re going to get the chance courtesy of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!“. The event is going to happen on April 26, and if it’s anything like some of the past “Kimmel” concerts Adam will probably get the chance to play one or two songs that are featured on the show, and then some of the other performances will make their way onto the internet.
If you want to try and snag some tickets for the event, head on over to 1iota.com (thanks to Mjsbigblog for the ticket tip). We’re not going to be at the concert, but we will have videos of the performance after it happens.
Colton Dixon angry about “feud” comments – “American Idol” is a TV show first, and with that sometimes you have people who try to create a little bit of a storyline where there is none. This is why Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine have been “linked” romantically, and it’s also why Jimmy Iovine tried to act like there was a competition going on between Colton and Phillip Phillips when it comes to getting votes from young women.
After the show, Colton took issue with the latter bit of drama, and even told Zap2It he was rather angry about it:
“Honestly, that really put me off. It really did. It got me wound up, and I’m sure I could go at it right now, but I had to bite my tongue in the studio and I think Phillip had to do the same thing. I even think Phillip handled it a little better than I did.”
The one thing that upsets us the most about all this? While we do agree with Jimmy in that teenage girls are the largest voting block, it’s also not fair to stereotype them all and suggest that there are only two people that they are feasibly casting votes for.
However, Colton will be best suited to just forget about it and move on.
Jessica talks Casper – Congratulations to Jessica Sanchez for being one of the first people to actually address the presence of Jennifer Lopez’s boyfriend Casper Smart! Speaking to E! News after the show, Sanchez still did not say much outside of saying that the two looked “happy together.”
On a different note, Jessica (along with everyone else not named Skylar or Hollie Cavanagh) is referenced by Randy Jackson in a new ABC News interview as someone who could end up winning this season.
