‘American Idol’ notes: Haley Reinhart, Lee DeWyze, and Daughtry

Haley’s made her pick.

We’ve already written about Adam Lambert’s newest single off of “Trespassing” — and now, we have the rest of your “American Idol” notes for your Wednesday afternoon.

Haley picks Jessica – Haley Reinhart is still doing some promotion for her new single “Free,” and of course she is still being asked plenty of questions about this current season of the show.

Speaking per Ryan Seacrest, Haley claimed that Jessica Sanchez is still in her mind the one person likely to run away with this season:

“I think Jessica Sanchez stole the show from day one. So, I really don’t think anything is going to be able to stop her now, she’s fantastic.”

Jessica seems to be the consensus pick of many so far — mostly because she has the talent, the positive spirit, and she’s also a breath of fresh air for a competition that has seen a man win for the past four seasons without fail.

Lee’s song preview – We seem to be seeing a trend with Lee DeWyze these days — the more than we hear when it comes to his post-“Live It Up” music, the more impressed we become.

That statement’s not meant to be a slam against Lee’s major-label album, but there’s some great folk undertones going through what’s he’s doing at the moment that remind us of Mumford & Sons combined with a little bit of John Mayer. (It actually reminds us of some of the music he was doing before “Idol” in Chicago, but evolved and with a few new tricks up his sleeve from the “Live It Up” days.)

This song currently does not have a title — nor is it complete — but Lee decided to play a little bit on YouTube simply because he felt like it. After hearing it, we certainly can’t complain.

Daughtry’s new video – Daughtry has just released their new music video for “Outta My Head,” and we’ll give them some credit for not doing what we totally expected them to. What are we talking about here? Stick around until the end of the video and get ready for a surprise.

As always, check back after “Idol” Wednesday night for a full review of the performances!
