Before we get to our “American Idol” notes piece (which will be up as well this afternoon), we have a rather big-time announcement for Adam Lambert fans: “Never Close Our Eyes” will be his second single off of his sophomore release “Trespassing.”
Adam made the announcement on his Twitter account Wednesday afternoon, and he also posted the official single art (which you can see to the left). “Eyes” is the song co-written by Bruno Mars, and it is a song that works both as an uptempo dance track as well as a pretty sweet acoustic jam. (For reference, we’ve enclosed both an album snippet and the Bing Lounge acoustic performance below.)
We really weren’t sure what song Adam was going to pick as his next single (his performance of “Trespassing” at the NewNowNext Awards had us leaning in that direction), but the song clearly has a strong radio hook, and the star power behind it may also help for promotional purposes in the all-important Top 40 Radio chart.
Are you excited that “Eyes” is the next single? As soon as we have more information on the announcement, we’ll post it here at the page. “Trespassing” hits stores on May 15.
