Really, this episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” had a little bit of everything — surgery, screaming, and bowling. It was really the sort of thing you would only see on a show themed around affluent women and how they choose to spend their free time.
If anything, this episode also reinforced in us our opinion that Gretchen Rossi is still the standout of this season. We give her some major credit, first of all, for being one of the few people in recent reality TV history to be more interested in actually making up with people than shouting at them all the time. She visited Tamra Barney after her implant removal surgery went well, and then she also helped to stand up for Vicki Gunvalson despite the fact that the two were having a rather nasty fight about child support just a matter of episodes ago. Why’s she do it? She felt like it was the right thing to do.
While Gretchen wins our gold star of the week for good behavior, we also have to recognize Heather Dubrow for slowly and surely becoming this series’ version of Lisa Vanderpump when it comes to having so much money that you don’t know what to do with all of it. Who comes up with the idea for champagne bowling? Heather. The fact that she felt this wouldn’t cause any problems is hysterical in itself, and it was made all the better by her proclamation that the night went well despite an inebriated Sarah Winchester causing all sorts of problems to the point where she was referred to by Heather as “crazy.”
Despite the fact that we have seen some of these situations play out in different forms on the show before (plastic surgery, people drinking too much at a party), we have to admit that we are rather enjoying this season. The cast all has some pretty defined roles, and although we have our favorites there is not necessarily a weak link that is dragging everyone else down.
After watching this episode, is “champagne bowling” ever something you want to incorporate into your party routine?
