‘The X Factor’ notes: Chris Rene, One Direction, and … Justin Bieber?

Chris Rene: coming soon.

Just as we typically do with “American Idol,” we have a variety of stories coming out — but this time, “The X Factor” is going to be front and center (even if we still have several more months to wait until the second season premieres in America).

Chris Rene’s new music – Want to hear more music from Chris Rene other than just his “Young Homie” single? You’re in luck — it’s looking as though there will be some more out coming this summer.

Speaking in a new interview with CBS News, Rene said that he is currently trying to put the finishing touches on the debut:

“I have four more songs to do. I got three songs done in five days. I had a 22-hour day a few weeks ago.”

“Young Homie” has found some success on top 40 radio already, and Rene is really the only artist from the American show so far to have any sort of tremendous success with the format. Of course, winner Melanie Amaro has also not released any new music as of yet outside of her Super Bowl commercial release of “Respect.”

One Direction on “Sunrise” – If you want to see something truly terrifying, just watch the crowd in Sydney, Australia go completely and utterly berserk over One Direction appearing on the country’s most-popular morning show.

We don’t have much to say about this — but somewhere, Simon Cowell is probably smiling ear to ear at how popular these boys have become worldwide in just a year and a half … and it’s all thanks to a reality show and a hit song.

Would Bieber ever judge? – In going from one group of teen idols to a solo artist, Justin Bieber is saying that he would consider being a judge on an “X Factor” series at some point … even though it won’t be for a while.

During an interview he gave on the ITV morning show “Daybreak,” Bieber answered a question about a judging gig be saying he would be interested “maybe in a couple of years…Five years or something like that could be cool.”

If you love Bieber, be sure to check out the rest of the interview, as well, for some more talk about his new single “Boyfriend.”

As always, check back soon for more “X Factor” news!
