‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4 spoilers: When will Zoe, Wade start to figure it out?

While many fans of “Hart of Dixie” probably saw Zoe’s pregnancy coming, given it was confirmed by The CW long before the show even premiered, it was still a pretty fun way to incorporate it on the season 4 premiere Monday night. They allowed the situation to be born out of something, and it also probably helped the producers to not have to hide Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy bump at every turn during filming.

While Zoe may be pregnant here, though, there are still clearly quite a few issues that need to be worked through. For one, she and Wade still are not together! Fans of the couple need not worry, though; the plan here is not for them to be apart forever. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter this week, creator Leila Gerstein made it clear that by the end of the third episode of the season, these two will have mostly figured out that they want to be together. From there, it’s preparing for what happens next:

“It is a story about two people who are having a baby … The majority of this season is they’re in a happy, good relationship. They are dealing with, ‘Oh my God, we’re going to be parents,’ but they’re going to get together.”

One of the very good things that could come from this is further encouragement that it will open up a variety of new storytelling possibilities. If there is no longer a reason to worry extensively about whether or not Zoe and Wade are going to be together, why not have a little bit more fun with them, and focus the “will they or won’t they” on someone else?
