AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’: Lauren Cohan becomes season 3 series regular

She’s a series regular

When Lauren Cohan’s ‘Maggie’ came onto the scene in season 2 of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ she was tough and sexy with a soft feminine touch that made Glenn fall head over heels in love with her.  After Glenn and Maggie’s struggles to accept love in a world that includes zombies and other atrocities, fans felt they got what they wanted when Glenn and Maggie finally said that they loved one another at the end of season two.

The producers of ‘The Walking Dead’ realized they had something special in Cohan and Maggie’s love story with Glenn and TV Line was proud to report that Cohan has been promoted from guest role to series regular moving into season 3.  Although being promoted to series regular usually means job security, you never know what will happen on ‘The Walking Dead’ or who the producers might decide to kill off as we saw last season with Shane and Dale.  No one is safe.

As we move into season 3 we know that Michonne will finally be in play and after much anticipation we will finally get to meet the biggest villain in the ‘Walking Dead’ series – The Governor.  Season 3 will be 16 episodes, divided into two parts and executive producer, Robert Kirkman says it will be like doing two seasons a year.  He said; “The idea is we will do eight-and-eight.  Getting eight-and-eight will almost be like doing two seasons a year, which is cool.”

While ‘The Walking Dead’ is on hiatus, you can catch Cohan doing a guest spot on ‘The Vampire Diaries’ airing on April 19th on the CW.
