Mrs Carter: Does he deserve a second chance?
After all of Jesse James’ affairs on Sandra Bullock surfaced we thought no one would ever give this guy a chance, but LA Ink star Kat Von D decided to roll the dice with the ‘West Coast Choppers’ owner and got burned as well. So now that it’s all in the past for Jesse and he’s trying to move forward, he’s finding it difficult to get people to move forward with him.
In a recent interview with Yahoo’s OMG! the reality star said that he feels he’s paid the price for his indiscretions, but because he’s in the public eye he has to deal with a heavier backlash over the situation than most. He said;
“I think I’ve paid the price and then some, you know? I don’t know anybody anywhere that’s had to endure what I had to endure for basically infidelity. It’s just the nature of my life. People always will want me sainted one minute, and strung up the next.”
Both Sandra and Kat have remained fairly quiet about their betrayal from Jesse, but James has gone on to do countless interviews trying to explain his side of the story. He said;
“I stood up like a man and admitted my wrongs and what I did and all that did is make every sh-t tabloid everywhere across the world come after me even harder. I’m strong. I can take it. Everybody can take cheap shots and say I’m a horrible dad, and that I’m a Nazi, and all this other [expletive]. Give me all you got. Because you know what? I know inside what kind of a person I am. I know I’m an awesome dad. I’m devoted to my work. And I work hard to take care of my family.”
Jesse admits that he has a lot of regret when it comes to the way he treated the ones he loved and wishes that he could go back and change the way he did things. He said;
“I think people will probably think since I’m doing well now and since I’m happy that I don’t have any sorrow or regret for what I did, which couldn’t be further from the truth. There’ll never be a day that goes by for the rest of my life that I don’t regret it. If I could go back and change the way I did things, and not hurt people, and not do things the way I did, of course I would do it that way. I would never consciously bring pain to anyone, especially the people I love. It is something that I have to live with.”
Many find it easier to say ‘I’m sorry’ after they have wronged someone instead of not doing it in the first place and while many people are able to forgive, no one ever forgets – especially when you’re in the public eye.
Jesse’s new special ‘Jesse James: Outlaw Garage’ airs tonight on the Discovery channel at 9 p.m.
