If you’ve watched “The X Factor” for some time, then you probably feel a sense of ownership now that you have watched One Direction go from a group of guys on a reality show to a worldwide sensation. Now, they are getting the potential opportunity to star in their own Nickelodeon series.
Before we even make it to that series, though, the boy band got a chance to shine in a guest appearance on “iCarly” Saturday night. How did they do? While Harry, Niall, and the others did not have too many lines over the course of the episode — they did at least receive a good bit of screen time, and were pretty funny as they talked about everything bizarre names tot he definition of the “butter sock.” There was also a lengthy shout-out to the group’s hit “What Makes You Beautiful,” as the group made the decision to stop by “iCarly” and keep some wannabe members from their band from getting in. (They also performed the song at the end of the episode.)
After watching this, we do think that One Direction does have a future in television. They each have their own personality, and the best thing they could hope for is if their Nick series could someday turn into a younger version of “The Monkees” — which to this day has a theme song that everyone sings the moment the band is mentioned.
