He isn’t a jackass anymore. He was very insensitive first, but not later, his jokes kind of changed later, he is now childish than a jackass. Beckett brought down the wall, but still hides things, in Season 2 she was pretty much like she always was later.

I believe that when Beckett told Castle that the wall between her and romance was coming down that it was a definite personality change (as I define it). And, of course, it finally came down in total for another personality change. Both of these changes were after season 2. With regard to hiding their true feelings Castle did this every time Beckett dated another man until his mother explained that he had to give her a ring to show that they were committed. Castle started out as a jackass and remains one even now he just does not show it as often. Is this a personality change or only a behavioral change?

If we agree to that then how will we continue to discuss it at length? lol. But yeah, you are right that an inner personality can be changing too, but that is also not being more open to love, and as I said, even that was there since Season 2’s end, considering she was, afterall about to say it.. She just has Castle now, and is definitely diff than Season 1’s Beck, but not Season 2’s. For example, even in the last ep, she didn’t tell Castle she was gonna miss the apartment, or that she didn’t like him saying he didn’t like the apartment, I mean, she still wasn’t shown to be that open from outside.

I believe that we both make some good points and could continue to discuss this at length but I believe we should first agree that there are two accepted definitions of personality. The first that I will call yours is that personality is the visible aspect of one’s character. The other that I will call mine is that personality is the sum total of the physical, mental, emotional and social characteristics of an individual. Let us just accept the fact that both are different now than they were at season 1 episode 1.

That is changing with Castle, but overall she almost is the same. In season 2’s end also, she was about to get together with Castle. Montogemory said she has more fun, which she definitely did, I am saying that fun she started having since the second ep of Season 2. All you are saying is right, but that’s not personality traits. I am just talking about personality, and she seems same as she was in Season 2, not really diff in that sense, even in opening up as people say, she changed a lot from Season 1, but not much from Season 2. Castle’s personality changes can be seen from Season 2 to Season 6.

Beckett has most definitely changed. First her mother’s murder has been laid to rest. This has allowed her to find the freedom to love and be loved. Until you have been in love you don’t realize how much it can change you. Next you may recall Captain Montgomery stating how much happier Beckett had become after interacting with Castle. This change is readily evident to the observant by seeing the increase in the number of times she smiles and laughs. She also appears to be seeing her analyst less often. Beckett is no longer seeking frivolous love but has found solid and everlasting love in Castle. Some might say now that Beckett has bloomed in an increasing joy in her life. However, the flower remains in beauty and in life.
