Mrs Carter: Playing coy makes us think its true.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have had romance rumors circling them for as long as we can remember, but lately the pair have been fanning the fire and driving the media crazy with the idea that they are finally dating.
West recently released his new song ‘Theraflu’ where he talks about being in love with ‘Kim’ and have his best buddy Jay-Z (owner of the NJ Nets) drop Kris Humphries from the team. The song lyric goes;
“And I admit I fell in love with Kim … ‘Round the same time she fell in love with him … That’s cool, babygirl, do your thing … Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team.”
If that wasn’t enough fodder for the rumor mill, Kanye and Kim then went out on a movie date this week to see the ‘Hunger Games’ and the next morning Kim was seen leaving Kanye’s building wearing the same clothes from the night before (walk of shame anyone??) They were seen later that day eating lunch together at Serafina and then taking a trip to FAO Schwarz.
Although Kanye and Kim have no problems being out in public together, it seems that Kim is not ready to admit that she is dating Kanye. While speaking to ‘Today Show’ host Ann Curry this morning, the romance rumors about her involvement with Kanye were definitely on the agenda, but unfortunately Kim was playing coy when it came to answering it honestly. She said;
“Kanye and I have been friends for years. … You never know what the future holds.”
Kim is still legally married to Kris Humphries at this point, so it’s possible that she doesn’t want to stir the pot for no reason- as if prancing around town with Kanye on your arm is not stirring the pot already. Kardashian spoke briefly about her pending divorce from Humphries, saying;
“We are still going through a divorce, so there’s not really much that I’m allowed to talk about. Out of respect for [Humphries], I try not to talk about stuff involving him and regarding that situation.”
It’s possible (but not probable) that Kim and Kanye are just friends, but at this point if they are platonic, but leading people to believe there’s something more between them, it could turn into a giant mess for her.
