‘Real Housewives of New York’ announces new cast members

Who are the new ladies?

It has been over a half a year since the announcement came down from Bravo that Alex McCord, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop would not be returning to the hit series ‘The Real Housewives of New York’ and since then fans have been on the edge of their seats wondering who would be stepping up as the new housewives.

On Wednesday night during a ‘Watch What Happens: Live All-Star’ party in Manhattan, Bravo host Andy Cohen introduced the newest cast members to join ‘The Real Housewives of New York’ cast.  Heather Tomson, Aviva Drescher and Carole Radziwill are the three new housewives that will be joining the cast and have been rumored to be the replacements ever since Barshop, McCord, Zarin and Bensimon were sent packing.

Tomson, Drescher and Radziwill will be joining the remaining cast members, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps for the fifth season of the show.

US Weekly gave a little back ground on the three new women, revealing that Carole has connections to the late Prince Anthony Radziwill and that she was also once a producer for ABC as well as a writer for Glamour magazine.

Aviva is the cousin of Fran Drescher and is also an amputee, who lost her left foot and ankle after an accident in a barn when she was only six years old.

Heather was once a celebrity stylist and is now a fashion designer who created the shapewear line called ‘Yummie Tummie’.
