When someone decides to put their life on television for the whole world to see and judge, it should be expected that it will cause problems in their existing relationships with family and friends – it’s just the nature of the beast, but for ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Teresa Giudice she feels that the trade off was not entirely worth it.
Giudice spoke to Star Magazine about her experience on reality television and how it has affected some of her friendships saying that it “ruined her life”. She used her friendship with Jacqueline Laurita as an example of what reality television can do to a relationship. She said;
“My Housewives experience has completely changed. Jacqueline and I had a wonderful relationship for about 10 years. We were great friends, but not anymore. It’s so sad. We actually went through a ‘friends divorce,’ which is so hard. Then, Jacqueline basically attacked me on the show about a magazine article that said I was going to jail. She was upset that she hadn’t heard it directly from me, but I wasn’t going to jail … the whole thing was so ridiculous.”
Giudice also said that her sister in law, Melissa Gorga coming onto the show behind her back has become a sore point in the family, causing heavy tension between everyone. She said; “I felt deceived. I haven’t spoken to my brother since before Christmas. We haven’t gone this long without talking in my whole life! I’d have to say that reality TV ruined our family, and it’s a disgrace.”
Teresa is currently a contestant on Donald Trump’s hit show ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ airing Sunday nights at 9 p.m. on NBC.
