Just in case you have been waiting for a long time find out when the triumphant return of “True Blood” to TV will be, we now have it for you — June 10 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
The premium cable network confirmed the news on Wednesday, and also said that the new series “The Newsroom” — featuring Jeff Daniels as a cable-news anchor who finds himself going off the rails after finally opting to speak his mind on the key issues of the day — will follow it up at 10:00. It’s a smart move to capitalize on the show’s lead-in audience, and for evidence just look at how “Dexter” helped “Homeland” before it gained its footing and was noticed by critics as being the superior series of the two.
This announcement means that HBO is wasting pretty much no time whatsoever when it comes to wrapping up “Game of Thrones,” and then getting something new on the air.
Just in case you haven’t been around the computer the past two days, we have trailers for both “True Blood” and “Newsroom” below. Do you think June 10 is the perfect date?
