When we first heard that Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” was going to be titled “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” it almost led to spontaneous eye-rolls on our end. Then, we found out there was an actual lion in this episode.
While we’re not sure just yet why Simba (as Meredith calls him) decided to make an appearance on the streets of Seattle, the whole idea of this has created some much-needed moments of humor following several episodes that were extremely serious. The only thing that makes this “meet the lion” scene better than it is on the surface is the random interjections from baby Zola in the car.
Unfortunately for Meredith, she is going to be rather quick to discover that not everyone is going to be as excited as she is to talk about the lion. Why? When it comes to Owen and Cristina, they are going to be too busy fighting it out over the revelation from the last new episode that Owen had an affair with an unnamed woman. (Get ready for tension!)
In moving away from Simba, this episode is going to feature some other characters acting out in big ways. For Teddy, this means attending grief counseling sessions to try and deal with the death of Henry. Unfortunately, we’re quick to learn that she does not get along well with others in a group setting — and to make matters worse, she also doesn’t like it when someone tries to describe a medical condition without knowing what they are talking about.
Finally, we conclude with some fun courtesy of Calzona. We haven’t really heard much about Arizona’s romantic history over the years, and this week’s storyline is going to provide us an ample opportunity to learn more on the way of details. Of course, it may take some prying from Callie in order to make this happen.
Even though we are going to deal with some serious content in this episode courtesy of the affair, are you excited for some of the more lighthearted stories this time?
