Before we dive in to Wednesday night’s new episode of “American Idol,” we have some rather fun stories for you from around the show community.
Casey’s new song – Do you love Casey Abrams? If so, it’s pretty impossible not to love his new song “Great Bright Morning.”
Despite the fact that the song is far more pop than we would expect from Casey, it may very well be among one of our favorite “Idol” songs of the year alongside Kris Allen’s “The Vision of Love,” Haley Reinhart’s “Free,” and Adam Lambert’s “Naked Love.” (Yes, there has been a lot of great “Idol” music so far in 2012.)
We love how this song is so simple and yet so complex lyrically — we love the meaningful lyrics, the intimate vibe, and Casey busting out a part of his voice in the falsetto that we didn’t hear much of during “Idol” at all. There’s also whistling! It’s just a happy song, and everyone needs one of these every now and then.
Kris performing his new song – Speaking of “The Vision of Love,” TVLine is reporting that Kris Allen will be coming to “Idol” on April 19 to perform his new single.
Kris definitely could use an extra boost for the stellar track — it has yet to make much of an impact on the radio, even though it has the potential to be the next “Live Like We’re Dying” and have a long run.

Heejun on “Wendy Williams” – We know that there’s not going to be another press tour this season on “Idol” as entertaining as Heejun Han’s, so for now we are trying to cherish it for as long as we possibly can.
Heejun’s new interview comes courtesy of “The Wendy Williams Show,” and in some ways it is standard fare in between him hitting on Wendy, talking about coming to America, and also trying to impress the kids that he helps to volunteer. Nonetheless, we never saw the noodles at the end coming!
As always, stay tuned for more of the latest “Idol” news!
