The viewership numbers are running about 1 million below last year's numbers. You would think that TPTB would be asking themselves Why? While I don't hate Bishop or Emily Wickersham, she isn't a replacement for Ziva (or Kate). She is a supporting character. To try to force the character into the leading lady position doesn't work. They have tried and tried but it does not work, in my opinion. So, now we have one man in a leading role. One in a semi leading role. Two men in supporting roles and two women in supporting roles. What worked for NCIS and JAG before was to have a strong leading lady and I don't know why, for the life of me, that they changed that. It worked for 19 years. (The first year of JAG had a weak leading lady and the series was cancelled at the end of the year and was then picked up by CBS) Why when you are at the top of your game do you want to change and do something that is not working? This is not an accident. This is a choice that was and still is being made by TPTB. It totally baffles me. They finally decided to let Ziva be mentioned. So, maybe they will fix this problem also.

Very disappointed that they are using Bishop to highlight the Thanksgiving episode. I mean don't they care anymore if the fans enjoy it? I have always enjoyed the holiday episodes of NCIS but this one is a bust before it even airs. It seems that the plan is to shove Bishop forward and "make" her fit into the team whether the fans like it or not. More Bishop all the time is on the agenda. This strategy is definitely the work of someone with blinders on or someone who refuses to admit that he made a mistake. I mean this action only reinforces and strengthens the animosity and annoyance fans have for the character and NCIS showrunner's response to the bad reviews fans are giving her. This total disregard for the fans is going to come back to bite someone because once you ignore those viewers and lose those viewers chances are considering the age of the show they won't be getting them back. So full steam ahead in the wrong direction and wait for the backlash. What a way to destroy a No. 1 show. Sad.

Good grief. The vast majority of fan response shows very significant dislike of the Bishop character. Not competent, not entertaining, not interesting. For heavens sake, NCIS needs far LESS of her, not more. Nor her spouse.
