					<description><![CDATA[I don&#039;t agree that &#039;The Voice&#039; would have had as much success as Idol back in the day if they started at the same time.  The emphasis on the Voice is to give the &#039;mentors&#039; as much screen time as possible with little time for the contestants.  It is the a show to showcase Blake Shelton.
Where I think Idol has gone wrong is that they are going for the &quot;Star Power&quot; in the judges and less about the contestants.  When the camera focuses more on JLo than the contestant singing, you aren&#039;t going to get a lot of interest in the contestant.  When the only &#039;Star&#039; was Paula Abdul.  We didn&#039;t know Simon Cowell or Randy Jackson at the time so the contestants were able to shine.
