For fans of late-night TV, you have to be rather pleased with the news that David Letterman is not going to be moving away from “The Late Show” for at least a little while longer.
CBS announced on Tuesday that Letterman and his late-night partner will each be around until 2014. For both parties, there are some substantial benefits that are coming along with the new deals:
-For Letterman, this contract will give him the opportunity to pass Johnny Carson for spending the most time ever hosting a late-night comedy show (as in more than 30 years). How much longer will he go after this? There have rumors about retirement for years, but nothing has ever come out of Dave’s mouth.
-As for Ferguson, this new contract is going to lead to him moving to a larger studio in Los Angeles, but the real question we have at the moment is whether or not a larger place to film when end up actually hurting his show’s low-budget appeal.
Since Letterman is also in the headlines at the moment for the first interview with Keith Olbermann since the Current TV scandal broke, you can also check that out below.
