‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 8 preview: A deeper look at Gibbs’ ‘Semper Fortis’ mission

Sometimes, “NCIS” falls victim to trying to tell a few too many stories within the span of one episode, when we are really better off seeing something that focuses a little more in on the characters we love, and something that is an insurmountable task for some of them.

Based at least on what we are seeing right now, this could very well be the focus for “Semper Fortis,” the next new episode of the show airing Tuesday night. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is going to do everything that he can to be a hero, but he is facing some very difficult (and very unusual) circumstances.

Specifically, what we are talking about here is that the character will be doing everything that he can to try to help a young woman who did everything that she can in order to help people in need of medical care, though she was not licensed to do so. Technically, she is guilty of breaking the law, but at the same time, didn’t she do what you would want someone to in this situation? We ultimately like to think so.

Gibbs will do everything that he can to protect her, and there will be come reminders in here in tow that this is what the men and women of the Navy should do in these situations: Help using their training. Had she not acted, the paramedics or anyone else qualified on the scene may not have been able to help at all.
